FIVE reviews submissions before adding an artist to the public database.
A new way to discover contemporary artists — and make your own voice part of the picture.
Great artists are everywhere. Finding them shouldn't depend on knowing the right people. FIVE gives people a simple way to discover artists, look at their work, and express what resonates with them.
Each round introduces you to a small group of artists from the public database.
Explore the artists and their work. Take a moment before making your choice.
Choose the artist that speaks to you. Your choice becomes part of the live data.
Return for new rounds and see how collective choices shape the ranking over time.
A ranking is one part of FIVE. The bigger idea is to make it easier to encounter artists you might never have found otherwise, follow your own taste, and take part in a growing public record of people's choices.
Everyone brings a different eye, background, and point of view. FIVE records real choices and makes those choices visible. It does not claim there is one objectively best artist — it shows what people choose, and how those choices change.
Discover. Choose. Repeat.
Every call starts with looking.
FIVE is an artist-discovery platform built to help people encounter contemporary artists beyond the names and networks they already know — and make up their own minds.
Art should have a chance to be seen before someone has a large following, influential connections, or an established place in the conversation. FIVE puts discovery first. It invites people to look at artists, choose what resonates with them, and help build a public record of real choices.
Each round presents a small group of artists from the FIVE database.
People can explore the artists and their work instead of relying only on reputation or recommendations.
Each choice is recorded as a real user action. No votes or audience reactions are invented.
Recorded choices contribute to the public ranking, showing how interest develops over time.
FIVE is designed to keep discovery moving. An artist who has just been approved is new to the system, so the platform gives that artist more opportunities to be encountered than artists who have already been shown repeatedly. As artists enter the system and people make choices, the discovery mix evolves.
The public ranking records people's choices; it does not decide what anyone should like. Exposure creates an opportunity to be considered, not a guaranteed vote. Every person remains free to choose the artist they genuinely prefer.
“People decide. Not connections.”
FIVE is not here to tell people which artist is objectively the best. It is here to help people find artists they might otherwise miss, trust their own response to the work, and make those choices visible. For artists, that means a chance to be discovered outside their existing audience. For the public, it means more possibilities and a more personal way into contemporary art.
